Story of the Week: Slow Down to Speed Up

Ok I’m gonna write this because I care about anybody who spends money time and effort to advance at something in hopes to better their lives and better the people around them!

This will be most valuable to the people that haven’t been unfortunate enough to end up in the casinos database for AP play like griffin book etc…

I wanna say that I work really hard to become the best at whatever I get involved in but sometimes I try to move too fast. Looking back I realize that I can be impatient and greedy! These are some of the character defects that all the different things I get involved in during life have a chance to point out and help me work to eliminate these flaws!

I have a simple analogy that may make sense to you and help you see what I have learned and wish to pass on.

The analogy comes from my real-life experience but I believe mirrors the dangers of moving too fast as an AP (advantage player). Picture going into a motorcycle road racing career and your gonna be riding Suzuki GSXR 750s and 1100 s and you’ll be racing on tracks like Daytona at speeds up to 200 mph and going into turns at 140 mph with your knee on the ground and sliding both front and rear tires with about 50 other bikes doing the same thing all around you with every one of them wanting to be first through the turn just like you!

So hopefully you can feel the excitement and the danger! With great reward in mind! Anyway, depending on who had done this before and was comfortable and didn’t panic some would make it through the turn and some would fall. Some would be ok when they fell and get back up and go and some would break bones and be out for a season. Once in a while some would fall and get hit by other bikes and sometimes sad to say some would become crippled or even die! As you can see this was a game I entered that I survived in for about 10 years and did professionally for 6 years. I wish I could report it was because I was patient and smart and waited till I was good enough to race on the level I was racing on but that’s not the case! I was crash or win and I broke way too many bones and spent way too much time healing thank God I never died. But what I learned going back to the track years after I had left is that some of the guys I thought were slow and in my way, were now winning races with ease! They were patient and still in the game after I had been gone!!!!

I like the analogy of AP life and road racing bikes cause in AP life bad crashes are backoffs and that’s not so bad but the bad crash that leaves you never the same is the backoff that gets you in the casino data base! Believe me from there forward it’s never the same and should be avoided for as long as possible.
